This season, we are not just releasing the 2023 Bluegrass Collection. We are opening the cellar and pouring our aged reserves alongside them. New release versus cellar aged. Side by side. So you can taste exactly what time, patience and careful cellaring does to a great red wine.

Cellar Release Bluegrass
For those who love aged wine but do not have the patience to cellar it themselves, we have done the hard work for you.
These wines have been carefully selected and cellared at the winery for six to seven years. The tannins have softened, the fruit has deepened and they are ready to drink now. Limited stock. Once they are gone, they are gone.
2017 Bluegrass Cabernet Sauvignon - Cellar Release
Seven years in the cellar. The tannins have resolved into silk and the fruit has evolved into something deeper and more complex. Drinking beautifully now with years still ahead.

30 Years of Bluegrass
The Bluegrass Collection has been at the heart of Saddler's Creek Wines since 1990. Traditional in nature and crafted for longevity, these full-flavoured reds from Langhorne Creek have earned a loyal following among collectors and wine lovers who appreciate structure, depth and character.
The fruit comes from Langhorne Creek, South Australia, one of Australia's premier regions for Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz. Deep alluvial soils and a maritime climate produce wines with concentration and elegance that reward patience.
Head Winemaker Brett Woodward has guided the Bluegrass style for over a decade, honouring the tradition while continuing to refine each vintage. The signature Bluegrass stamp of fine tannins, derived from careful maturation in American oak, runs through every wine in the collection.

Each May, the finest Bluegrass wines from our museum reserves are released exclusively to Club Equus members. Limited in quantity and carefully aged, these cellar releases show the extraordinary depth of flavour and complexity that only time can deliver.
