Winemaker's Notes

Crafted on a style of old, bright fruit characters of cool climate Tumbarumba Pinot Noir are supported by a rich backbone of Hunter Valley Shiraz. 60% Pinot Noir, Cribben Vineyard, Tumbarumba 40% Shiraz, Spotty Dog Vineyard, Hunter Valley. 80% French Oak, 20% American Oak.


Pinot Noir: 10% wholebunch ferment. A mix of MV6, 114 and 115 clones. Cold soaked for 48 hours prior to ferment. Once pressed off, then matured in old neutral french oak for 12 months. Shiraz: From the low yielding Spot dog vineyard. Cold soaked for 48 hours prior to ferment. Once pressed it is then matured in mix of French and American Oak. 30% New. Prior to bottling the wine is blended, 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Shiraz. Lightly fined and filtered for clarity and true fruit expression.
