Christmas carols in the Hunter Valley, the old school way

Printed carol books, the songs everyone knows and a whole crowd singing together on the grass of our Picnic Area, overlooking the Brokenback Ranges. Kids on picnic rugs, the family in camp chairs and a glass of wine in your hand.

Anna Weatherup leads the night. She plays at Saddler's regularly on her own, and for Christmas she is bringing a full band, brass included.

Pack the rug, bring the family and sing in the Christmas season with us.

Food and wine on the night

Pre-order a Christmas Hamper for Two from Mangia at Saddler's with your ticket. Cheese and charcuterie, butter poached prawn rolls, lamb saddle cooked over coals, salads and a sweet treat, made to share on the rug. Mangia is open on the night too.

The cellar door pours all evening by the glass or bottle. Reach for our Single Suitcase Series, Italian varietals from Pecorino and Fiano to Sangiovese and Barbera.

What's on in the Hunter Valley in December 2026

Make a day of it. Sit down at midday for the Single Suitcase Wine and Food Pairing, six Italian wines matched to plates from Chef Chiero, then spend the afternoon in Pokolbin and be back on the grass for the carols. The pairing is limited to 10 guests a day, so book both together.

The Laureti Way

Saddler's is more than just a winery, it's a Hunter Valley destination we created for bringing people together over good food and wine, family hospitality the Laureti way. The live music, the food from Mangia at Saddler's, the picnic grounds where families gather, they all exist because the point was never just the wine, it was the connection around it. This is a place for making memorable occasions over a glass, the kind you remember long after the glass is empty.

Wine crafted with heart and soul, made for sharing.
