🍷 A four-course wine dinner, nine Saddler's Creek wines, France vs Italy
A Saddler's Creek wine dinner in Brisbane, for the people who cannot get to the Hunter
Most of our Queensland members and Friends of Saddler's only see us at the cellar door once in a while. So this time we are bringing the cellar door to you: one night in Fortitude Valley, a French brasserie kitchen cooking to our wines, and Amelia Hardaker pouring and telling the stories behind each bottle.
French vs Italian grape varieties, tasted side by side
Every wine on the table is Australian. The French side is the classics we have always made in the Hunter Valley, Chardonnay, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Italian side is the Single Suitcase Series, the varieties the Laureti family brought to Australian soil, Pecorino, Fiano, Sangiovese and Barbera. Course by course, you taste a French variety beside an Italian one and decide which wins.
Saddler's is owned by the Laureti family whose parents came out from Italy in the 1950s with a single suitcase and a handful of dreams. These wines are named after their pioneering and adventurous spirit. Today, we are crafting these Italian varietals, grown in various regions across Australia, where they thrive best, allowing each place to bring out their true character.

The Laureti Way
Saddler's is more than just a winery, it's a Hunter Valley destination we created for bringing people together over good food and wine, family hospitality the Laureti way. The live music, the food from Mangia at Saddler's, the picnic grounds where families gather, they all exist because the point was never just the wine, it was the connection around it. This is a place for making memorable occasions over a glass, the kind you remember long after the glass is empty.
Wine crafted with heart and soul, made for sharing.
Wendy Laureti
